Sorry, this is a road bike trip, but since I took more pictures of the Massacre Rocks State Park area than any where else, I thought I'd pass them along.
First off, the cabin that we rented for our three day stay at the park:
A view of the Snake River from the front porch of the cabin:
Along the Snake River looking west:
Same shot, but from atop a rock formation overlooking the river:
Now we swing around to the east and take a shot from the same rock formation:
It's bright and early and and here's another shot of the Snake River just below the cabin:
Just like the dirt bikes, I don't take many pictures on our street bikes either, but here are a few just outside of Holbrook Idaho:
It was bad weather on Friday, so we only got a short 100 mile ride from the park, west to Rupert on old highway 30, then down to Declo on highway 77, picking up highway 81 to just above Malta where we rode Yale Road back to Raft River, then back on to the Park.
On Saturday the weather was fine. We did a 260 mile loop from the park south down the Rockland Valley, then back north up the Arbon Valley, then north east over Mink Creek to Pocatello, out to Blackfoot via the Fort Hall Indian Reservation, then back to the park via old higway 39 which circles American Falls Reservoir.
We finished off the day with a swim at Indian Hot Springs. We are tired, but it was one fine trip. If you are into on-road riding and exploring, this is one fine area and the folks at Massacre State Park were very friendly and helpful.
